WHERE DO WE STAY IN GILLAM?
Its best to plan to be in Gillam the night before the trip and stay the night after unless you are continuing on to Churchill in which the train leaves Gillam at 11:00 pm Which gives you time to get back into town before the train leaves.
The Auroura Gradens is a nice clean place to stay.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
I always say this is an adventure in northern Manitoba so you can never be sure what the weather is going to be:
- Light pants
- T Shirt
- Sweater or Hoddie
- Light Jacket
- Hat
- Shoes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Sunglasses
- Camera and Extra Battery
- Bionoculars
- Snacks

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?
I provide a BBQ lunch burgers are made at the Gillam Co op bucher shop and fixings, bottled water is provided.

Please bring snacks it’s a long day.

There is a chance that the restaurant in town will be closed when you get in the night before or if we leave early in the morning on the adventure. So please pack some extra snacks for those times.

I can pre order Pizzas from the restaurant in town for when we get back from the trip.

WHAT CAN WE SEE ON THE TRIP?
I always say for the trip to York Factory you are guaranteed to experience the history of Gillam Island, Port Nelson, and York Factory. But there is always a chance to see lots of eagles, the odd black bear eating blueberrys along the shoreline, a curious seal bobbing in the river, the snow white belugas in the bay and the all magnificent polar bear.
